Grand Rapids Symphony sells out ‘Lord of the Rings’ show, dress rehearsal …

But the rehearsal, conducted by guest conductor Ludwig Wicki, will feature the orchestra, the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus, the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony Chorus, special guest vocalist Kaitlyn Lusk, same as in Friday’s performance.
Lusk, 20, was here in October 2005 when the orchestra performed composer Howard Shore’s “Lord of the Rings Symphony.” That concert featured musical highlights plus projected still images and storyboard drawings from all three of the films.
“Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” will be shown in high-definition on a 20-foot tall by 48-foot wide screen suspended above the orchestra with all of its dialogue and sound effects.
