Adam Resurrected

Adam Resurrected
Adam Resurrected (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.60

Plot: “Adam Resurrected” follows the story of Adam Stein, a charismatic patient at a mental institution for Holocaust survivors in Israel, 1961. He reads minds and confounds his doctors, lead by Nathan Gross. Before the war, in Berlin, Adam was an entertainer—cabaret impresario, circus owner, magician, musician—loved by audiences and Nazis alike until he finds himself in a concentration camp, confronted by Commandant Klein. Adam survives the camp by becoming the Commandant’s “dog”, entertaining him while his wife and daughter are sent off to die. Years later we find him at the Institute. One day, Adam smells something, hears a sound. “Who brought a dog in here?” he asks Gross. Gross denies there is a dog but Adam finds him—a young boy raised in a basement on a chain. Adam and the boy see and recognize each other as dogs—and their journey begins. “Adam Resurrected” is the story of a man who once was a dog who meets a dog who once was a boy.

What's the big deal on not wanting to die?
For Christians the fact that we die should not be an issue but it is. If we die and go to Heaven if we believe in Jesus Christ, then what’s the problem with dying? Isn’t it our goal to get to Heaven?

I ask this as there is a question right now about Witnesses using blood and we would rather die than take it into our bodies which is Scriptural.

I may be answering my own question but the fact is this: God instilled in us the will to live. Remember that Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and where did he raise him to, Earth. Jesus also said to not marvel at this for the day will come when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. So, all that have died will come out, that is in the future tense, not the past tense. All that have died are just plain dead.

Oh, by the way, where was Jesus resurrected to? Earth. Not Heaven, went there afterwords though. Man stays on Earth for the new life. Also remember that Adam was not to die at all but sinned and he died cause he sinned. It was not Jehovah’s plan for man to die.
apeman60, then if you die young according to most Christian religions, you will be in Heaven which is where most believe they will be.
Snowflake, in the Book of Rev. it tells us about the new earth after Armageddon, not dying and going elsewhere.
Mypreshu… where does it say that in the Bible?

Jehovah God created us [humans] with eternity in our hearts.
Even after Adam and Eve sinned, and passed on death and dying to all their offspring, we humans never could accept death because it’s unnatural…it’s not normal!
And to this day, we will fight and hold onto every bit of breath that we have, even though we know that if we should die, that Jehovah will remember us in the resurrection.

sugarbee | Aug 31, 2009

Being human, it is deeply embedded in your genetic code to preserve your life. It makes you look both ways before crossing the street. If you do not have a healthy fear of death, you will die young.
apeman605 | Aug 31, 2009

But Adam and Eve’s ‘Earth’ was not our Earth. Ours is a shadow of it. And to achieve the kind of life where death isn’t possible, we have to leave this one…we do it by dying.

I’m not worried about that at all. In a way I find it quite exciting and can’t wait to find out what’s next!
Snowflake | Aug 31, 2009

Okay, this question is obviously directed at the Christians. You should have said so.

As for the big deal on not wanting to die…some are just not ready to let go yet. In those cases, they will indeed return to the physical plane. Those who are ready, will move on to the next plane of existence.
MyPreshus | Aug 31, 2009

Well to the one who answered first. You didnt read it correctly!
She was not promoting death to get to heaven.
Saying why want to die! To get to heaven?
JWs want to live. Even have hospital Liaisons to get best
treatment for us!
Taking blood which is the soul of another - Genesis 9: 4.
Leviticus 17: 11&14 - Is a Sin against God. So long term
you would loose out on life! Eternal life that is!
Man was created to live forever on the earth not in heaven.
Until Adam lost us that gift.
And JWs are Christians - even more so than others
claim to be.
TruthBknown | Aug 31, 2009

Because death is not normal. If death was normal, it wouldn’t hurt us so much when a loved one dies. Just about everywhere you look you see advertisements for plastic surgery to make one look younger, supplements to help you live longer. Does it sound like people want to die?

Adam and Eve were not meant to die. They had everlasting life in a paradise on earth. They had this until they disobeyed God. They lost that gift. We have the chance to live forever on earth after Armageddon, if we stay close and obey Jehovah God.

help needed in love…anybody?
i am 23 indian guy (would be 24 within days) living in Columbus, doing graduate studies. i recently met an american girl 16 yrs old…. when i first saw her, i was like ohhhhhh!!!!!!!! she is stunningly beautiful. i chatted with her for a while and found out she is a very loving person…..also, honest, kind and very naive. i have badly fallen for her. not only that i desperately need her in my life, also i want to have a long term relationship with this girl. i never felt such deep feeling for anyone except her. however the problem is, she is quite younger than me….and i have been told it is illegal to propose to a girl of this age. but trust me, i would never be able to forget her……so, what should i do ? should i tell her about my feelings ? any suggestion…????

dont propose to her, just go out with her. see how things work out. proposing will scare her off. so just ask her out.
p.s. its only illegal if people find out, keep it a secret ;) Owen | Feb 04, 2010

I think you should tell but respect the fact she is 16 she is nieve and young! she may not be experianced in relationships…. try not come on to trong as you dont wanna scare her get to know RESPCT her.
Good luck

Well..I never heard that proposing was also illegal. Anyways, you can ask her out, and propose her, coz from my personal experience, I feel that at 16, a girl is mature enough to know whether she loves someone or not. Or you may take your time, and propose her when the legal age of you proposing her arrives. And if she understands u and loves you, why would she take the matter of you proposing her to someone else. I hope this works. All the best…
Palash | Feb 04, 2010

It would be inappropriate for you to pursue her and probably not a good idea for you to share with her your feelings. You should limit your interaction with her, so that your feelings for her subside a bit as you need to leave her alone until she is 21 yrs. old.
Pursuing her is asking for trouble. If you continue to pursue her, you are looking for trouble.
Seriously. This is a dangerous thing to pursue.
Hang out with people of your own age and allow her to grow up with people her own age. You need to get involved with activities within college and with people your own age. If you truly care for her, you will keep your distance and find someone your own age range.
As you said, she is very naive and if you truly care for her, you will allow her to grow up with other children her own age.
Just imagine if you were her father, would you want a 23 yr. old guy chasing your little 16 yr. old daughter? Not good. It would be totally different if she was in her mid to late twenties, but at age 16, she is still a child. Don’t start something that will become a real mess.

What to do in Austin?
So my school’s crew team goes down to Austin every february for a week of intensive rowing. (The rivers are still frozen up here!) We get 2 afternoons off, and 2 nights for eating out. Do you know of anything 30 or so 14-18 year old girls could do with an afternoon in Austin, or where we could find some fun (but cheap!) restaurants? Last year we did Laser Tag and shopped on S. Congress Ave, so obviously these don’t have to be elaborate trips. We tried to find some barbecue for dinner, but the place we went wasn’t very good. Any reccomendations would be awesome. Thanks!! :D

PS: We’re staying at HI Boston, which is on S. Lakeshore Blvd, if that helps, and we have 2 vans for getting us around, so decent parking is a necesity!

Maybe try Old Settlers Park up north in Round Rock. It is about 20~30 minutes from downtown Austin. It has a 18-hole Frisbee golf course. One afternoon will be just enough for that. At the entrance to the park, there is the Salt Lick BBQ. The original Salt Lick down south is arguably the best BBQ around Austin. This is its second location and is also very good.
If you girls like, you can also stop by the round rock outlet mall. It is along the I-35 on your way to the park. However this is a very generic mall, with all the well known brands there, nothing unique like the S Congress Ave.

Who was this serial killer?
Who was this serial killer? I don’t know much about him but I want to say he was a preacher. He got a lot of followers and made a colony. I think the colony was in South America but I’m not sure. When he had everybody on the island he gave them some kind of poison to drink and they all drank it and died. Who was this preacher?

Dark Reprieve

Dark Reprieve
Dark Reprieve (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.00

Plot: Two people Matt and Kate wake up in a closed down prison. They have no idea how they got there, or why they are there. In the prison they encounter several terrors as they look for an exit. These terrors include a wolf beast that terrorizes Kate, a hideous monster that hunts them both, a “zombie” surgeon who operates on people whilst you’re still alive, the executioner who gives Kate a ride in his electric chair and finally executes her with the guillotine. But Kate just wakes up again in the prison and the nightmare continues. Also in the prison Matt and Kate encounter a strange number that pops up a regular basis, first the number is being printed over and over again on a printer gone crazy, next the number appears painted on a wall in blood. Kate finds a room containing a vacuum tube machine for sending messages between rooms, when she pushes the operation button it comes alive and a cylinder appears. Inside the cylinder are the pictures of five people, Kate has no idea who these five people are. Later in the movie Matt and Kate explore the basement in the search for an exit and discover five pairs of shoes all neatly arranged on a shelf. As Matt and Kate endure these horrors, the beautiful fashion model Raquel Lake is being interrogated by the police about a series of homicides. Raquel is arrogant and diabolical, she also has a very high IQ and proves more than a match for the professional police interrogator. Strangely many of the subjects in the police interview correlate with the events transpiring in the prison. For instance, Raquel is shown a series of pictures of five dead people, and when Raquel is informed by the detective that they are “looking for a cold blooded predator.” Raquel’s response is….”like the wolf?” What is the connection between the two people trapped in the prison and the interrogation of Raquel Lake?

Why did Ted Bundy blame porn?
If you haven’t seen it, and you’re interested in it, watch this:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NlKgqTRNjc U

Why do you think Bundy blamed porn in an interview one day before being executed? I mean, there’s the obvious answer of "Well, maybe it *was* the fault of hardcore porn…" But I think we can safely say that’s bullsh*t. I mean think of all the people who watch porn — even people who watch violent role-play porn — and how many of them go on to become serial killers?

And I don’t think it’s likely he was trying to get a reprieve from the death sentence. By all accounts he was an intelligent guy and he must have known he wouldn’t get off the hook by chatting to an evangelical Christian and blaming porn and dark forces…

Also I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have cared too much about what people thought of him (I mean, he killed over 30 women and girls, etc.), and I don’t think he was trying to save his soul (don’t think he believed in souls or a god, and if he did he could’ve just prayed rather than being interviewed by some anti-porn Christian).

So what was the point of this interview? I mean, I think he was acting. But why bother?

I could not agree more, Bundy was a psychopath, and lies, and misinformation came easily to his lips.
He loved the attention, and was a showman to the end.

bgee2001ca | Jan 19, 2009

I don’t think that he blamed porn entirely, it was just that he was trying to explain the sort of person that he was and trying to give an insight into what made him the way he was.
I think he said something along those lines when he was ‘helping’ in tryint to profile the green river killer
